My Review Have you ever finished reading a book and don t have a firm grasp on how you feel about it You kind of liked it but kind of didn t That s where I stand with this book On the surface this book has a lot of things that I enjoy in a book a Gothic setting in a rather creepy ancestral home dual narrative in two eras and historical references Sounds great right I was expecting this book to be along the lines of the The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton or The Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley And while it did have similar settings and time frames That Summer didn t have the substance or character development that the other two authors bring to their books of a similar genre There s something missing in this book I was a decent read but that s itI think the mystery started off strong and I was eager Witness in Death reading a book and don t have a firm grasp on how you feel about it You kind of liked it but kind of didn t That s where I stand with this book On the surface this book has a lot of things that I enjoy in a book a Gothic setting in a The Legend of Parshu Raam rather creepy ancestral home dual narrative in two eras and historical A Place In The Shade references Sounds great 13 Sculptures Children Should Know read but that s itI think the mystery started off strong and I was eager

review ☆ That Summer review ☆ eBook or Kindle ePUB Ï Lauren Willig summary That Summer Ncluding Gavin Thorne a uiet man with the unsettling ability to read Imogen better than anyone ever has When Arthur hires Gavin to paint her portrait none of them can guess what the hands of fate have set in motionFrom modern day England to the early days of the Preraphaelite movement Lauren Willig's That Summer takes readers on an un put downable journey through a mysterious old house a hidden love affair and one woman's search for the truth about her past and herse. 35 stars I really like dual timeline stories and there were definitely aspects of this book that I liked However I really wish Aunt Regina and her family secrets would have been developed I think it would have added depth to the story I also felt there should have been a little time given to the mystery of Thorne and Aunt Jane It just felt sort of rushed at the end to tie it all up
